The women raved after being remov­
ed to the Sheriff's office, where she
abused the judge and remarked that she
would pay the fine.
Late this afternoon through the in­
fluence of her husband and frirnds, she
wrote nn abject apology to the judge,
retracing every thing she had said, de­
claring she respected him as a man and
Judge, and acknowledging the letter was
insulting and also defamatory. The
judge suspended sentence pending good
behavior, releasing Mrs. McKivett on
her own recognizance.
