Portland, Oregon, Nov. 17, 1905.
Sir : 1 herewith enclose a complete list
of the awards received for exhibits from
Tillamook County at the Lewis* Clark
Fair. Mr. Dosch, in charge of awards,
informs me that about January 1st next
the awards and medals will he sent to
the County Judge for distribution.
I regret there was not more effort
made on the part of the people of this
county to send in exhibits, which could
have been conveniently gotten together
such ns apples, vegetables, fish. coal,
wool, etc., hut after all Tillamook
County did as well as other counties
considering the number of exhibits dis-
played.
1 will ask the people, and especially all
those who stood off and found fault with
the County Judge, the Commissioners
nnd myself, but who did nothing them
selves, to kindly drop us for a short
time and "take off your hats” to the
following list of medals received by those
who mnde a feeble effort to do some
thing for the good of the County.
Yours very respectfully,

In recording the death of Mr. M Man-
son, we do so with deep regret, yet it is
only fitting that the H eadlight should
add a few words in praise ol those of our
citizens who have lived good and useful
lives. This much can truthfully be said
of Mr. Munson. He was a gentleman in
every sense of the word—a Christian
gentleman, as well. We cannot pay any
one a grander taken of respect than this.
Whenever the Angel ol Death deprive a
community of such men there is reason
to deplore their departure. A large num
b.-r of citizens are truly grieved, for they
knew Mr. Munson to be a good citizen,
a stannch friend and kind neighbor, and
withal a devoted husband. Such men
are missed and a loss to society, He
has gone to his rest—.mil his reward for
livin' a Christian life.
