Very few people in Tillamook appear to
realize it, but if they will put their study

next Monday is of far more importance
to them than a dozen county elections.
All will admit that the bottled-up, tied-
up, conditon of the county is a detriment
to it and a financial burden every settler
has been packing for years. The only
complaint in this prosperous section of
the county is on account of being bottled
up. Tillamook never stood better pros
pects of overcomiug this than she does
today, and it is highly gratifying to see
that silver linings have appeared in the
hoodoo cloud which has hovered oyer
this county for years and it is about to
be removed, which will be done the day
that congress grants an appropriation
for the improvement of Tillamook bar.
Are Tillaniookers going to vote for or
against the party that can grant us this
long prayed for improvement ? As we
ha ve stated, this election is of great im
portance to those who have property,
business and industrial interests in Tilla
mook, for if they have ever stopped to
look into the future what a different stale
of affairs the improvement of the bar will
mean to Tillamook, they will readily ac
knowledge that there is only one thing tor
the people of this county to do, that is if
they have an eye on their own personal
and the county’s interests, and that is to
vote for Hermann. Don’t vote against
him and then beef and belly-ache because
the county is tied-up and bottled-up.
Get out, vote for Hermann next Monday,
for that is the way to help get an appro
priation of $500,000 for Tillamook next
December.

The amount of deposits in the savings
banks of the slate of New York at this
time is over $1,000,000,000. the increase

are chiefly from wage earners in the
