It is with much regreat that we have
to annonnee the death of Mrs. Cora
Cary, wife of Mr. Howard Cary, which
took place on Wednesday, at Pendleton,
where her husband had taken her for the
benefit of her health. She had been at
her mother’s (Mrs. Foland’s) home at
Salem for several weeks previous, where
she had been gradually failing in health.
Her husband left here two week ago to
take her to Pendleton, thinking the
change would do her good. Her death
has caused a gloom to her many friends
in Tillamook, where she was greatly be
loved and respected. It is not known at
present whether the remains will be
brought here for burial.
The new company took charge of the

in its new machinery, it will chew up the
logs with that rapidity there will never
be a scarcity of lumber again, and, furth
er, we trust its light will burn brightly
and not blink out so often. Considering
everything, it is a surprise Mr. Taft has
kept the mill and electric lights running
as long as lie did, but it is best for the
city that a change has been made in the
company, and-we have no doubt but
what it will turn out so for all concerned
and will prove a good investment.
