COMMISSIONERS’ COURT.
The board of county Commissioners,
with County Judge G. W. Sappington
and Commissioner Chas. Ray, present,
transacted the following business:
J. J. McCoy petitioned the court for a
rebate on his taxes for the year 1901,
which was granted and the clerk was
ordered to draw a warrant for #76 M in
his favor.
The lands which had been assessed to
William Ross, Archbishop of the Roman
Catholic church, for the years 1896, 1897,
1898, 1899, 1900, and 1901, the court
ordered the sheriff to cancel assessment,
as the land had been erronously assessed
as it belonged to the Roman Catholic
church.

It was ordered that the residents of
Tillamook county living in the vicinity
of said road are allowed one half of the
foregoing rate.
A liquor license was granted to Wm.
Scott on a petition of an actual majority
of the legal voters in Union precinct.
John Sheets resigned as road super
visor of R D number 8, which was
accepted.
J B Delsman was appointed supervisor
of R D No 8 and filed his bond in the
sum of $500 which was approved.
The Tillamook Lumber Co made ap
plication for a reduction of taxes for the
years 1896, 1898, 1899, 1900 and 1901,
the court sanctioned a compromise upon
the company paying the sum of $600
and the clerk was ordered to issue
certificates of redemption.
The petition of F. C. Varner et al to
place the ticket of the socialist party on
the official ballot was rejected.
The bond of the Wilson River Toll
Road Co. in the sum of f5oo with Geo.
W. Kiger As surity, was approved.

for damages, the court appointed B. A.
Todd, Nick Drostoff and J. L. Vosburg
viewers and appraisers to meet at Henry
Tohl's store at 9 o’clock on Saturday the
24th of May 1902.
In the matter of the leasing of the
Wilson River Road, the court ordered
that the contract be ratified and entered
ou the journal. The court also fixed the
