A short four line editorial in our
last issue appears by mistake as
original when it should have been
credited to the Portland Telegram.
We are rery partial to the editorials
in the telegram, hut not enough so
to steal them bodily.
If the pugnacious pugs who are
so busily wagging their jaws these
days and spoiling for a fight, with
each other were to enlist in the
army and go and fight Spain in
stead, it would bean immeasurable
relief to the country—even though
they all got killed.
Now that peace negotiations have
been opened, there will of course be
great diversity of opinions as to
what the terms ought to be, and
the man who makes it his business
in life to “cuss” the government
will be much in evidence.
