A twenty-year-old sou of Jas Mariner
who lives 011 the Tiowbridge place north
of town, cut his leg accidentally some
time since, and though the wound was
not severe, it did not seem dangerous
until blood-poisoning set in. Every
thing possible was done to save the leg,
but to no avail, and Dr. kelly, assisted
by Drs Wiley ami Petre amputated the
injured limb last week. It is thought
the young man will recover speedily.
There is considerable difference of
opinion developing regarding the rt|iort
of the committee reducing the wags* of
teachers, etc. The school had just mad*
large accessions of pupils from the May
Academy and many deem it unwise to
cut the teachers’ wages just now as it
would lie an acknow ledgement of weak
