Semi-Annual Statement I Of the bounty Treasurer of Tillamook County. Oregon, for the Bin month, euding on the yi.t day of September A. AMOUNT RECEIVED [The following its the regular semi-annual financial report for Tillamook county. According to this, a county with over a million-and-a-quarter of dollars in assess able property, the debt, including court house bonds, is only »25,067.49, or about $5*00, decrease in the last year. There is due the county at present »11,490.37 delinquent taxes, leaving the county only »13,577.12 behind in reality, and a great deal has been spent on roads and bridges in the past few years. County warrants are already rising iu value, which lielys a great deal, as all know. The new salary system by which the county gets the clerks fees will reduce the debt about »3000 per year, and the enormous area of valuable timber lands which have been lately patented, and are now taxable, will help to wipe out the debt very fast. Half the county is covered with timber land which is now assessed at »500 per quarter section, and as roads are almost unnecessary 111 the timber sec tions, the expenditures will not be increased, while the receipts will be greatly increased, and it is thought by careful financiers that within a year or two the the tax rate here will be cut down at least one half as far as county ex[>enses are concerned. The outlook now, considering the prevalent financial depression, is extremely bright.—Ed.
