The storm w hich struck the coast

950 bodies have already been found
and buried, and the work is not
nearly done. Out of 1200 houses
only 25 remain standing. This is
only one instance and it is prob
able that the full loss of life will
never be known. Contrary to the
general rille the loss of life is much
greater than first estimated and
more bodies are being found all the
time. The New Orleans Board of
Trade has issued a call for aid “to
enable the thousands of deserving
people to again follow their avoca
tions and support their families.”
