The above completes the official state,
district and *county canvass of Tilla
mook’s vote. The main fight in county
affairs centered on clerk and sheriff, and
at one time the elected parties were on
dangerous ground, but being good polit.
ical leaders they rallied their scattering
forces and went to battle in a spirit that
always denotes victory. To say the cam
paign was marked by harmony would be
an error. Both parties used tactics un
becoming—a fault of the head, not of
the heart.
