T he S ilverton J ournal / SILVERTON, OREGON, FRIDAY, JULY 24, 1914. VOL III. NO. 38. - CAN BE NO COMPRMISE EVERYBODY GIVE IT TO ’EM! Commencing With Sulzer as Governor of New York We Must Show an Unwavering Front to Romanized Political Corruption From The Atlantic to the Pacific. It will be remembered that the Hierarchy said that they would get Su'zer because he did not support a rotten law which was to give the Catholic church more fuBy-^the con trol of the public schools. They did l>ut him out of office and put one of their own corrupt Knights in. But when Greek meets Greek, then com s th tug of war. Will Sulzer be the next Governor of New York? The Sentinel of Lil>erty, says that his cause is growing like a gathering storm. They say: "The recent news from New York indicate that Sulzer will be the next governor of that state. There are over thirty countie» which have en tered into I tie Anti-Boss Democratic league. The sole purpose of this league is to re-enstate Sulzer. Su'zcr a True Patriot. Sulzer refused ter al’ow the Roman ists to rule him. They wanted a man that would allow them to graft on the state as they had done before and as they are doing in almost every state in the Union. They want tax money and Sulzer’s high sense of en nobled manhood, would not allow such. The politics' bunch of papists im mediately got busy and ousted him. This was a deliberate frame-up. Contest of Governors. Glenn, the Roqianist and co-con- spirator in the ousting of Sulzer, made a GREAT speech at the 125th anniversary of Georgetown Univer sity. The Washington Herald of June 16th says: Gov. Glenn Urges Catholic Union. Prevent Persecution by Showing Fangs of Lion, Urges Governor. A hint from Gov. Glynn, of New York, that the Catholic church will be subjected to persecution until its adherents band together and »how, instead of the teeth of the lamb, the fangs of the lion, was the only se rious expression last night, at the smoker of alumni of Georgetown University, who are celebrating the 126th anniversary of the founding of the institution. Gov. Glynn deliver ed the principle address.” Gov. Glynn has proven himse.f to be just what we thought he was, here he shows himself to ne a stiff necked inembtr of the Knights of mob and murder. In other words th« state of New York has a man gracing tlx official chair of the governor who endorses the reign of terror in the mobbing of American freemen. Can you imagine u better illustration of what the Knights of Columbus Oath is than that illustration here in the case of governor Glynn. The Roman hierarchy la allowed 'iberties here in America that would be unthikabie In her native soil, yet this rough-neck is spouting off at the mouth about the Romanists showvng the "Fangs of the Lion instead of the teeth of the lamb.” The only sign of a lamb like nature in these brutes is the wool they have in their “Fangs." Their whole existence has been but one b'oody devastating reign of ter ror. This is the gnng Glynn wants to more thoroughly organize for their hellish work. In other words: The Jesuits are not bloody enough nor sneaking enough, the Knights ofaCol- umbus with their bloody, drunken mobs are not showing the “Fang” enough. They must get something stronger. Well here it is governor. The black hand of Italy with Glynn at the head of the thmg. that would be fang enough to suit Hans Schmidt. The two governors contrasted a- mounts to simply thia: A Knight of Columbus with all the showing of the “Fang” that their cowardice will venture or a true patriot, who rath er than let his state be robbed al low d h'mself to be sacrificed. Dear New York people, Which Shall You Take”? And dear people in Oregon what are we going to do? Sha'I we still b'indly put in the Glynn# and force the real American citizens to take a back seat, i>e bully ragged out of business, become tramps and die of broken hearts? That is just what “is doing” all over this great country. The offices here are filled with Jesuits, tools and cowards. Kick out the traitorous Glynns and put in the Sulzer patriots and you will notice not only a difference in the taxes, general prosperity and growth of our great state but also in the growth of the only permanent thing in the world—the great principles for which stands the American flag. TROUBLES OF WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT. William Howard Taft, who recently ran for president of the United States and whose appeals for support were so eloquent and convincing that the pe pie all voted for the other fellow, is now confronted with a disunited family, as well as a disunited political party. Mr. Taft, when president, vetoed the Webb hill, over the heads of the dep.'.'tment of justice experts, on the ground it was surely “unconstitu tional.” ' Rut, behold, his eldest son, Robert, came out in an article in the Harvard Law Review declaring that the mea sure w .g constitutional, flat)/ over ruling pater fabilias. Recently, Mrs. Taft publicly espous ed the cause of the anti-suffragists and said things about women who desire to take part in the making of laws under which they must live. And now comes Miss Helen Taft espousing the cause of suffrage am flatly overruling her Ma. All of this is in line with the trend of the times. The old folks, naturally conservative, turn their back upon the rising sun and dig in the graves of the past. The younger ones turn the'r faces to the light and bend their energies toward accomplishment. In the young lies the hope of the future.—The Key stone American.
