A FALSE REPORT NAILED-
MARY LASENAN’S FRIEND’S TRUE BLUE
An Enemy of Our Cause Was Worked Into Our Service,
Worked Up Dissention Amoung Us, Lied, Insulted Our
Witnesses and Continually Reported to the Hierarchy.

At a time when harmony was the
very most essential thing in our
ranks during the recant criminal liliel
case against the Editor of this paper,
we
became
stampeded, Nothing
seemed right. Word came that the
Gamers, with whom Miss l.asenan
was staying and who had MO nobly
defended her, were traitors. Then
M'ss Lasenan got the idea from some
source that certain ones who wrrr
much interested and doing our cause
the bast of service was an enemy,
The story g ,t afloat that her friends
the Garners were ail grafters and
were holding her for money. The
whole affair if truthfully and properly
written reacts like a romance and is
one of those dramas in real life that
helps to shape the future history of
our race.
These good people, the Gamers,
took hold of the work of protecting
this defensless girl, who had escaped
from the very jaws of the beast of
Rome, with great energy. They
sacrificed everything. They took her
into their own home and guarded her
day and night.
The Gamers have proven to the
world their uprightness, loyalty, fear­
lessness and integrity which the tool
of Rome has tried to descredit.

Mary away to some safer place, Mrs.
Garner sacrificed her home duties and
went with her into another state.
Constant companship of the young
people in the home could not he'p
the ripening into respect for each
other and finally into love of the
oldest son fur this endangered young
woman and th<* exigencies of the case,
the danger to Mary of being alone
for a single moment and the necessity
of moving about, strongly suggested
to these young, strong, healthy en­
thusiastic people the idea of uniting
in marriage. And this was the very
best thing to do for all concerned,
although like all romances it some­
what astonished their friends.
When Mary learned that some of
the investigators who were working

in this case were false to the cause,
and in fact through her own investi­
gations found that they were double-
crossing every one interested, she felt
it her duty to go back to her former
friends in the east and nip the game
in the uud. Upon her arrival there
she found that she was too late, the
dastardly work of the Jesuit had been
done, through the most trying cir­
crmstancea.
Before starting for the east, a he
thought that it would be a good idea
to telegraph ahead to several points,
Chicago, Joliet, Rochester and other

who was gaining admittance to her
friends, but when she arrived there
herself she found that the clever
double-crosser had gained his point
by telling Mary’s friends that the
telegrams had been sent by her hus­
band and not by Mary, thereby gain
ing their confidence. The fact of the
matter is that the near friends of Miss
Lasenan, at that time, thought it was
hardly the proper thing to do, but
Mary took it upon herself ami sent the
tel< gram just the same. Her friends
after her arrival in Chicago called up­
on her, on Chrislmas-eve, and, from
the information that had t>een given
to them by this false representative,
tried to separate her from her hus­
band, but this clever lady knew too
much about the tricks of the Jesuits
and paid no attention to the wishes of
their traitorous instructor.
Miss
Lasenan is a lady who recognises a
friend first, last and all the time.
As much as has been said of the
Garner family, Mary says that she
has found the accusations to be entire­
ly wrong, and being a true friend to
her friends and a noble wife to her
husband she will be a true and loyal
woman as she has been at all times.
If Mary and her husband had been
allowed to go back to her former home
in the East with an able investigator,
our work would not have been delayed.
