Obituary
FERN LOUISE ACTON

2012.

Fern Louise Acton, 97, Van-
couver, Washington, died Au-
gust 29, 2012. A memorial of
life will be held on Sunday,
September 23, starting at 1:00
p.m., at Hazel Dell Park, 2300
NE 68th St., Vancouver.
Mrs. Acton was born No-
vember 29, 1914, in Marmarth,
North Dakota. She was raised
in the upper Midwest.
Shortly after the war, she
married Win Acton. In 1950
they moved to Vancouver.
She was involved with 4-H
and her beloved Saanens dairy
goats earned many national
championships. She enjoyed
being outdoors with her ani-
mals, gardening and camping.
She hand-knitted wool socks
which were coveted by friends
and family.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, in 1982.
Survivors include four sons,
Wayne, Jim, David, and Gary;
one daughter, Lauren; a sister,
Beth Sterling; three grandchil-
dren; and two great-grandchil-
dren.
Remembrances are sug-
gested to local 4-H clubs.

ANN S. JENSEN
Ann S. Jensen, 84, Yamhill,
died September 9, 2012. A
service was held September 13
at Willamette National Ceme-
tery in Portland.
Mrs. Jensen was born April
16, 1928, in Aitkin, Minnesota,
to Gearhart John and Mildred
(Wheeler) Stramer. The family
moved to the Los Angeles, Cal-
ifornia, area when she was a
toddler. She graduated from
high school in 1943.
In 1947, she married Glen
Jensen. They made their home
in the Cooper Mountain area of
Beaverton. In 1992, she moved
to Yamhill to live with her son.
She worked as a designer/dec-
orator for I. Layton Creations,
and sewed in her spare time.
She enjoyed knitting and
crocheting for Veterans’ chari-
ties. She also enjoyed camp-
ing, fishing and music of the big
band era.
She was preceded in death
by her husband in 1987.
Survivors include three
sons, Hal Jensen of Timber,
Lee Jensen of Yamhill, and
Randy Jensen of Newberg; a
sister, Adele Jordan of Bur-
bank, Calif.; eight grandchil-
dren; 15 great-grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
Remembrances are sug-
gested to the American Cancer
Society, Great West Division.
