EDWARD C. CHAMBERLAIN

Alan L. Domenghini, 63,
Banks, died July 19, 2012.

KENDALL ELAINE GRADY
Joan Marie Heynderickx
Edward Clarence Chamber-
lain, 92, Lincoln City, died June
23, 2012. A celebration of life
was held July 25 in Lincoln
City. Interment was at Willa-
mette National Cemetery in
Portland.
Mr. Chamberlain was born
September 7, 1919, in Fargo,
North Dakota, to Edward and
Bessie (Pardue) Chamberlain.
He moved to Portland and
graduated from Lincoln High
School in 1937.
In 1940, he married Bertha
B. Shipman. In 1964, he went
to Bible College and they
moved to Shelton, Washington,
in 1968. They were missionar-
ies to Ethiopia for three years.
They lived in Scappoose for 10
years, then Beaverton, then
Lincoln City for the past four
years. He semi-retired in 2008.
He enjoyed reading, piloting,
auto mechanic tinkering, and
hospital/senior ministries.
He was preceded in death
by his wife, in 2008.
Survivors include Paul
Chamberlain
of
Tacoma,
Wash., Connie Kaye of Banks,
Charlotte Thun of Vancouver,
Wash., Betty Selby of Lincoln
City; 13 grandchildren and nu-
merous great-grandchildren.
Columbia Funeral Home
was in charge of arrange-
ments.
Kendall Elaine Grady, 15,
Scappoose died July 29, 2012.
A graveside service was held
August 3, at Vernonia Memori-
al Cemetery, with Pastor John
Cahill, of Vernonia, officiating.
Ms. Grady was born August
29, 1996, in Hillsboro, to Timo-
thy D. and Kathleen M. (Jones)
Grady. She was raised in Ver-
nonia and Scappoose. She
was currently attending Insight
School of Oregon and would
have been a Junior this fall.
She enjoyed listening to mu-
sic, spending time with friends,
and art.
She was preceded in death
by two uncles.
Survivors include her par-
ents of Scappoose; a brother,
Timothy R. Sparks of Scap-
poose; a sister, Jamie Jaeger
of Anchorage, Alaska; her
grandparents, Mike and Ilene
M. Grady of Vernonia, and Paul
and Linda Maxwell of Eugene;
aunts, uncles and cousins.
Remembrances are sug-
gested to the Kendall E. Grady
Memorial Fund, c/o any Wauna
Federal Credit Union branch.

JOAN MARIE HEYNDERICKX
Joan Marie Heynderickx, 77,
Cornelius, died August 9, 2012.
A funeral mass will be held on
August 17, at 11:00 a.m., at
Visitation Catholic Church in
Verboort. Vault interment will
follow at Visitation Catholic
Cemetery.
Mrs. Heynderickx was born
December 4, 1934, in Martinez,
California, to Leo “Clifford” and
Ann (Hermens) Bride. When
she was seven, the family
moved to McMinnville where
she graduated from McMin-
nville High School.
In 1952, she married Cecil
Heynderickx. They made their
home in Cornelius, moving to
their current home in 1961. She
was a housewife, though she
had worked as a cook for sev-
eral years, most recently for the
Washington County Correc-
tions facility in 1989.
She enjoyed gardening,
growing flowers, animals, rid-
ing horses, traveling to the
coast and Surprise, Arizona.
She was talented at sewing,
crafts and cooking.
She was preceded in death
by three children; Steven
James, Lynette Cecelia, and
Gary Lee.
Survivors include her hus-
band; one son, Nick Heynder-
ickx of Forest Grove; four
daughters, Lori Jackson of
Gilbert, Ariz., Leanne Handley
of St. Helens, Lisa VanDyke of
Cornelius, and Loni Wren of
Banks; three sisters, Barbara
Inman, Lois Wade and Sandie
Shook; 12 grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
Remembrances are sug-
gested to the Visitation Ceme-
tery Endowment Fund or Uni-
versity Park UMC Outreach
SUSAN CLAIRE TANDY
Susan Claire Tandy, 69, Ver-
nonia, died August 5, 2012.
Services were held at the Ver-
nonia Seventh-day Adventist
Church.
Ms. Tandy was born Sep-
tember 6, 1942, in Napa, Cali-
fornia, to Oscar Frasier and
Carolyn June (Oakes) Tandy.
She was raised in Napa and
Lodi, Calif. and graduated from
Lodi Academy in 1960. She
earned a Bachelor of Arts de-
gree in Secretarial Science
from Pacific Union College.
She worked as an executive
secretary at Loma Linda Uni-
versity for several years and
was a sales manager for Tup-
perware. With her husband,
she moved to Iowa. In 2009, af-
ter her divorce, she moved to
Vernonia.
She was a member of the
National Multiple Sclerosis So-
ciety, was well-read with wide-
ranging interests. She enjoyed
playing Scrabble, keeping up
with friends, conversing and
visiting with others.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; a daughter,
Holly Owen; and a grandson.
Survivors include her broth-
er, Douglas Tandy of Vernonia;
and her sister, Dr. Cindy Tandy
of Valdosta, Georgia.
Remembrances are sug-
gested to the Seventh-day Ad-
ventist Church of Vernonia.
Tualatin Valley Funeral Al-
ternatives of Hillsboro was in
charge of arrangements.
JUDSON “TOM” WOODS SR.
Judson “Tom” Thomas
Woods, Sr. 81, Gaston, died
July 26, 2012. A funeral mass
was held August 2 at St. Peter
Catholic Church in Newberg.
Mr. Woods was born April 9,
1931, in Winnemucca, Nevada,
to Judson E. and Kathleen
(Cunningham) Woods. The
family moved to Butte, Mon-
tana, where he graduated from
Christian
Brothers
High
School, then attended Montana
School of Mines.
He married Dolores J. Lind-
say. He was in the electronic
business and relocated to
Beaverton in 1966. He later
started Econ-O-Fab Building
with his son-in-law Mark Plath.
He retired in 1988 and they be-
gan motor-homing full-time.
The business is now being op-
erated by his son, Tom Woods,
Jr.
He enjoyed traveling, sunny
weather, golfing, and dancing
with his wife at the Elks Lodge,
where he was a member for
over 50 years. He was also a
member of the Northwestern
Chapter of FMCA (Family Mo-
tor Coach Association), attend-
ing many rallies and conven-
tions over the past 25 years.
He was a avid reader, and an
amateur radio (HAM) operator.
He was preceded in death
by a son, Paul D. Woods.
Survivors include his wife; a
son, Tom Woods; four daugh-
ters, Kathy Plath, Chris Loucks,
Colleen Crawford, and Pamela
Henker; a brother, Bill Charles;
nine grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren, including
his namesake, Judson Thomas
Woods IV.
Remembrances are sug-
gested to Hospice of Washing-
ton County.
