Parade
Lawnmower Races
Parade registration starts
at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday,
August 4. Judging starts at
9:30 a.m. with winners re-
ceiving their awards before
the parade hits Bridge
Street starting at 11:00 a.m.
The staging area is on
Weed Avenue, behind City
Hall. The parade ends at
Bridge Street and East Av-
enue.
Fees for entries are $10
for Commercial and Political
entries and a suggested do-
nation of $5 for General en-
tries.
All riders of ATV/Motorcy-
cles who are under 18
years of age must be super-
vised in the parade by an
adult.
Lawnmower races will be
held across the river from
Anderson Park (Sword’s
Place) on Saturday, August
4, starting with registration
at 2:00 p.m. followed by
races starting at 3:00 p.m.
All lawnmower race en-
trants are encouraged to
participate in the Parade
(see Parade article for fur-
ther information.).
Helmet, gloves, pants,
shirt and shoes required. No
mower decks or blades al-
lowed. No bumping or ram-
ming allowed.

Volkswalks
The Cedar Milers Volkss-
port Club will hold a Walking
Weekend during Jamboree.
Volkswalking is non-com-
petitive walking for fun, fit-
ness, and/or friendship.
There will be four walks
during the three days of
Jamboree (August 3-5); a
Jamboree Town Walk (6.2 or
3.1 mile options), a Vernon-
ia-Tophill Trailhead Walk
(option are a 10.5, 2-6.2 or a
3.1 mile walk), a Tophill
Trailhead-Buxton Trailhead
Walk (6.2 or 3.1 mile op-
tions), and Buxton Trailhead
to Banks Trailhead (6.8, 6.2,
or 3.1 mile options).
Register for one or all four
walks at Vernonia Lake.
Registration will be available
each day from 9:00 a.m to
1:00 p.m. All participants
must register. Walkers
should be off the trails by
4:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to
participate and there is no
cost except for those work-
ing on their IVV Achieve-
ment Awards. Well-behaved
pets on leashes are wel-
come but please clean up
after your pet.
