profit arts and heritage organi-
zation, will present an evening
of art and community on Friday,
May 18, at the Vernonia Com-

(VCLC) and the Blue House
Café starting at 6:00 p.m.
Headlining the event will be
the fourth annual Junior
Salmon Auction, a fundraiser
for Vernonia School Arts pro-

their own unique vision.
At 7:00 p.m., the salmon will
be auctioned off in the VCLC
by local auctioneering legend
Bill Yeo, with a minimum start-
ing bid of $10.00. Also up for
auction will be several chairs
and tables that the students
decorated using themes from
popular artwork. Prof-
its go to support Ver-
nonia School Arts and
Hands-On Art pro-
grams.
In addition to the
auction, their will be
an art exhibit and sale
at the Blue House Café. This
will include art from Vernonia
artist Nathan Bower and Ver-
nonia students.
Bower is a recent transplant
to Vernonia who specializes in
oversized, brightly colored, joy-
ful paintings. He has recently
exhibited in the Columbia
County Courthouse, JCafe in
Portland, and with Activate
sponsored by RAWartists.org.

While there, they helped make the lake a better place by picking up all the garbage in the lake
and bringing it to shore for proper disposal.
