Wauna has new Scam reported
OSP announces job openings Sr. V.P., Morriss A Vernonia resident recently
For the first time in the De-
partment’s history, the Oregon
State Police (OSP) will be ex-
clusively using an electronic
application system to accept
applications from men and
women interested in a future
career as an OSP trooper.
Electronic applications will be
received starting October 25,
through the State of Oregon’s
E-Recruit system, a new elec-
tronic application system that
all branches of state govern-
ment transitioned into about a
year ago.
OSP Superintendent Chris
Brown is hopeful this new ap-
plication opportunity will result
in a large turnout and encour-
ages anyone interested in a ca-
reer as an OSP trooper to
apply.
“The Oregon State Police
has not accepted applications
for recruit trooper positions
since March 2010. We expect
high interest but we will have to
limit the number of applicants
to the first 800 received so we
have a manageable application
pool for anticipated hiring,” said
Brown.
The process can start now
by going to the Oregon State
Police main website www.ore
gon.gov/OSP and the recruit-
ing website at www.osptroop
er.com where interested appli-
cants can create an account to
start building a profile. Applica-
tions will start being received
Tuesday, October 25, at 8:00
a.m.
Superintendent Brown em-
phasized that if you truly desire
a position with the Oregon
State Police it takes discipline
and preparation. The best ad-
vice is to train to the highest
possible level you can achieve,
even if that surpasses the print-
ed standards. During the phys-
ical abilities testing, applicants
are required to meet specific
standards for performing push-
ups and sit-ups in two minutes
and running two miles under an
allotted time. These standards
can be seen by clicking the fol-
lowing link: http://www.osp
trooper.com/OSP/RECRUIT/tr
ooper_testing.shtml.
