Talented people
sought for show
The last talent show in Ver-

you have a talent to share? All
ages welcome! The next Talent
Show is scheduled for August 5
(during Jamboree) at Washing-
ton Grade School.
Do you sing, dance, do com-
edy, a short skit, etc? Pre-
screening is required to partici-
pate in the show. There is a
cost associated with entering
the show. For more informa-
tion, contact Lee Anne Krause,
at 503-816-9810 or leean-
nekrause@gmail.com to show
your talent.
Look for more details on the
show in future issues.
Senior Center News
A variety of breads, rolls and pastries
are available daily at your Vernonia Senior
Center, and you don’t need to be either a
senior citizen or a member to use this serv-
ice. This is just one of the services the
center provides for the community. These
baked goods are free, but if you choose to
make a donation, it will help defray the cost
of pick up and delivery.
Another service is the complete, deli-
cious lunch served Monday though Friday
at noon. A $4.00 donation is suggested for
those 60 and older, and $5.00 for those un-
der 60. If you prefer lunch to go, for only
$5.00 you can call ahead and place your
order.
Have you ever wondered why the cen-
ter parking lot is packed on Wednesdays?
Wonder no longer – it’s because lunches
are always made special with musical en-
tertainment by the Golden Oldies. This
group of talented musicians start playing
before lunch and continue until well after,
serving up copious amounts of toe-tapping
nostalgia and laughter to add savor to
good food.
Breakfast for all ages is served Fridays
from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at just $3.50 per
person. Maple bars are made fresh daily
for $1.00 each! You can also order maple
bars for a gathering of any kind by calling
503-429-3912 a day or two ahead and
placing your order.
Meals on Wheels are available for those
who are home-bound. Call Senior Informa-
