Who won the Coloring Contest? Washington County has board openings
The City of Banks observed
National Drinking Water Week,
May 1-7.
The winners in the City’s
second annual National Drink-
ing Water Week Coloring Con-
test were announced at the
May 10 City Council Meeting.
Mayor Kinsky stated, “The City
of Banks second annual Na-
tional Drinking Water Week
Coloring Contest was a huge
success”.
This year’s winners are:
• 2-6 Year Olds; 1st Place -
Brooklyn Janeway, 2nd Place -
Aidan Kroo, 3rd Place - Jack-
son Henderson and Honorable
Mention - Tyler Janeway.
• 7-9 Year Olds; 1st Place -
Martial Stegemeier, 2nd Place -
Alyssa Greagor, 3rd Place -
Ayyub Diani, and Honorable
Mentions - Jadan Loza, Made-
line Jacobs, Noemi Avendano,
Zyber Gutierrez, Maisy Phelps,
Caden Petersen, Damian
Woodruff, Sophie Bench.

“The number of entries, and
the quality of the artwork was
outstanding”, continued the
Mayor. “It is wonderful to see
the younger generation take
such an active stance in our
water conservation education
efforts.”
The City of Banks also con-
tinues to educate their cus-
tomers about water conserva-
tion by including conservation
information in the water bills
each month, and continuing to
be members of such organiza-
tions the American Water
Works Association, American
Public Works Association, Ore-
gon Association of Water Utili-
ties, and the EPA’s Wa-
terSense Program. “The City of
Banks wants to continue to en-
courage our customers to be-
come active in water conserva-
tion”, said Mayor Kinsky.

Per Board of Commissioner
procedures, nominations will
be solicited for these commit-
tees for a six-week period or
until filled. The County Adminis-
trative Office will work with the
affiliated departments to solicit
applications from qualified indi-
viduals. Staff will keep the
Commissioners apprised of ap-
plications received and of ap-
proaching deadlines.
As specified in the revised
"Recruitment, Selection & Ap-
pointment Process," there will
be an opportunity for the Board
to discuss appointments at a
work session prior to schedul-
ing any formal action.

June 7, 2011, or when all va-
cancies are filled. Applications
