Members sought for county boards
The following boards are
currently seeking applications
for new members:
• Cultural Coalition of Wash-
ington County (CCWC). CCWC
administers distribution of any
state funds received by Wash-
ington County from the Com-
munity Cultural Participation
Grant Program of the Oregon
Cultural Trust. The CCWC dis-
tributes funds through a com-
petitive process to Washington
County-based organizations
and artists to address priorities
identified in the Washington
County Cultural Plan. Members
may serve a maximum of two
(2) consecutive terms only.
There is a time commitment of
6-8 meetings per year for this
three year position.
• Public Safety Coordinating
Council (PSCC) – At Large and
Daylight-
Savings

At Large (Minority). Council
members coordinate local crim-
inal justice and juvenile justice
policy and make recommenda-
tions for the use of state re-
sources for public safety pur-
poses. There are Twenty-five
members including the presid-
ing Circuit Court Judge, various
elected officials from the Coun-
ty and cities, state and local law
enforcement, the County Ad-
ministrator and other County
managers, lay citizens repre-
senting each Commissioner's
district, and lay citizens repre-
senting minorities (at-large ap-
pointment). This two year term
position is expected to have a
time commitment of four hours
or less per month.
• Homeless Plan Advisory
Committee (HPAC) seeks a
mayor or city councilor; faith

member. All will serve three
year terms.
The Committee will be advi-
sory to the county Homeless
Program Coordinator, the Di-
rector of Housing Services, the
County Administrator, and the
Board of County Commission-
ers.
The application deadline is
November 30, 2011, or open
until all vacancies are filled. Ap-

Air Force Airman Samuel R.
Walton graduated from basic
military training at Lackland Air
Force Base, San Antonio,
Texas.
The airman completed an in-
tensive, eight-week program
that included training in military
discipline and studies, Air
Force core values, physical fit-
ness, and basic warfare princi-

Evers pleads guilty before trial
Dale Joseph Evers, 42,
Banks, was scheduled to start
a new trial November 2, after a
jury deadlocked in August on
seven charges relating to inap-
propriate acts with minor fe-
males. Instead, Evers entered
a guilty plea on October 22 to
several attempted sex abuse
and perjury charges. He is ex-
pected to be sentenced to be-
tween three and four years of
prison on these charges.
Evers had been found not
guilty of six other counts,
though he was convicted of
