Spike strips are not designed to cause a blow-out. Their design is for individual, hollow spikes to enter the tire and begin releasing air out of the tire at a meas- ured rate, flattening the tire and ending the high speeds of the suspect vehicle over a relatively short distance. For more information, I encourage anyone interested in knowing more about the spike strip we use to halt pursuits, to check out an informational video that can be found online at: http://www.stop- stick.com/ deflation.html#video. Recent events involving the sheriff’s office have showcased the use of spike strips to interdict criminal behavior on county roadways. Efforts to stop the car by two different law enforcement agencies went Please see page 21 Tony Johnson Construction ALE WOODWORKIN D N I G.C NTA O U O SPECIALIZING IN REMODEL & REPAIR M M Service Directory C ABINET D ESIGN & M ANUFACTURING S INCE 1976 J OEL T EMPLIN CCB #43965 503-429-5504 503-429-5436 V ERNONIA , O R 97064 FALL CREEK WOODWORKING WOOD FLOORS INSTALLED & REFINISHED 503-429-4351 Cory Colburn 11561 Keasey Road, Vernonia, OR 97064 • CCB #79876 • • • • • • Excavating Septic Systems Site Prep Underground Utilities Driveways & Roads Trenching PO.
