The quilt that just kept coming back is now home for good
From page 9
was done, it became the 2009
Senior Center Quilt Raffle quilt.
While the quilt was being fin-
ished, Grimsrud made the com-
ment, “Wouldn’t it be ironic if
the quilt came back to me one
more time?” She eventually de-
cided she was destined to win
the quilt and began purchasing
raffle tickets for it.
On Wednesday, November
18, after over $1,100 worth of
raffle tickets were sold for the
quilt, the drawing was held.
Fran Hendrix was in charge of
the raffle and had the honor of
calling the lucky winner – yes, it
was Ruth Grimsrud.
This time, Grimsrud says,
“The quilt is home to stay. It is
not going anywhere again.”
She went on to say she was
honored to once again own the
quilt and is grateful to the “Quilt
Ladies” – Faith Reynolds,
Louise Hamnett, Fran Hendrix
and Susan Goodhope – for the
many hours they spent quilting
it and the beautiful needlework
they did to finish the quilt.
