Sept. 24 – Jason Neal Roberts,
26, previously of Vernonia and
John Hesselman, 22, Vernonia, ar-
rested while trying to pawn stolen
property in Washington County;
taken to Washington County Jail
on multiple Burglary counts. They
are suspected of responsibility for
more than 60 burglaries in Wash-
ington and Columbia counties,
where items such as chainsaws,
golf clubs, tools, fishing gear, and
lawn equipment were reported
stolen. One suspect would talk to
the homeowner while the other
stole the items. Property owners
who have noticed a theft since July
1 but haven’t notified Police are
asked to call Detective Dawn Van-
dehey at 503-846-2601.
Oct. 3 – Took report at a resi-
dence on McDonald Rd. that
someone had cut the fence to the
field on the property; suspect infor-
mation provided and the investiga-
tion continues.
