According to Sword, the building with windows on the right side was the Pringle Building which sat about where Providence Medical Clinic is now lo- cated. The Pringle Building housed a tavern and hotel run by John Pringle who was one of the 200 survivors of the 600 sol- diers involved in the Charge of the Light Brigade, made fa- mous by a poem by that same name written by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, in 1854. Note the raised walkway on the left, in front of what is now the high school. According to Sword, he was in England when the high school construction started in 1952 and received a letter from his family telling him the construction began and saying, “They filled in the duck pond to build the new high school.” Voters say “no” to Banks school bond From page 1 Thompson was reelected with- out opposition.
