night of connection with our

member, we have plenty of
hats and shawls in our thrift
store: check them out on our
bathroom accessories shelf.

SENIOR PROGRAMS: Re-
spite, Senior and Veterans Ser-
vices programs are part of
Community Action Team in Co-
lumbia County. Community Ac-
tion Team serves low income
people in Clatsop, Tillamook
and Columbia Counties. CAT
also serves as the local Area
Agency on Aging, a national
service organization authorized
by Congress to provide servic-
es to seniors.
Veterans needing assis-
tance may call CAT Veterans
Services Officer Joseph Pyle at
the St Helens office, 503-366-
6580. For a brochure on avail-
able services, my office is lo-
cated at the Vernonia Senior
Center, 446 Bridge Street.
Where were you in l957?
Well, on April 6th, at what was
then the Evangelical Church in
Vernonia, maybe you were at a
wedding! Happy 50th anniver-
sary to Carl and Betty Holsey.
Carl has been our senior center
president for the past year-and-
a-half and his wife, Betty, has
been a faithful thrift store volun-
teer. Congratulations.

will hold their annual garage
sale on Thursday, April 19, and
Friday, April 20, from 9:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday,
April 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. Members of the parish are
busy sorting, pricing and stock-
ing clean, good quality items
that will be be offered at the
garage sale.

celebrate 50th
Friends and family will be
joining Carl and Betty Holsey

VRFPD meeting
date changed
The regular board meeting
of the Vernonia Rural Fire Pro-
tection District (VRFPD) will be
held Thursday, April 19, at 7:00
p.m. at the Fire Hall.
The second budget meeting
for the 2007-09 fiscal year for
the VRFPD will be held Thurs-
day, April 19, at 6:00 p.m at the
Fire Hall.

The Vernonia Community
Church invites the community
to breakfast after the Easter
Sunrise Service at Vernonia
Memorial Cemetery. The serv-
