Obituary
WILMA J. BRANDVOLD
Wilma J. Brandvold, 82, Beaverton,
died March 19, 2007. A funeral mass
was held March 24 at St. Francis
Catholic Church in Roy.
Mrs. Brandvold was born April 2,
1924, in Vancouver, Washington. Her
maiden name was McPeak. She was
raised in Banks and graduated from
Banks High School.
In 1946, she married Julian Ver-
meire. He died in 1991. She married
Norman Brandvold in 1996. She
worked as an accountant.
She was preceded in death by a sis-
ter, Mollie Bailey.
Survivors include her husband; two
sons, Lynn R. Vermeire of Bend, and
Rodney L. Vermeire of Oregon City; a
daughter, Cindy H. Vermeire-Chris-
tensen of Tigard; a step-son, Richard
Brandvold of Lebanon; a step-daugh-
ter, Mary Laufman of Stevenson,
Wash.; three brothers, Earl McPeak of
Shelter Bay, Wash., Bill McPeak of
Banks, and Jim McPeak of Sutherlin;
three sisters, Karen Trine of Beaverton,
Carol McPeak of Salem, and Mary
Gager of Milford, Kansas; two grand-
children; and one great-grandchild.

DOROTHY MAXINE DANIELSON
Dorothy Maxine Danielson, 96,
Banks, died March 20, 2007. A celebra-
tion of life was held March 23, at Forest
Grove Memorial Chapel with the Rev-
erend Richard E. Osburn officiating. In-
terment was at Mt. View Memorial Gar-
dens in Forest Grove.
Mrs. Danielson was born January
13, 1911, in Clatskanie, to Max and
Frances (Payne) Fogel. She was
raised in Clatskanie and graduated in
the class of 1929.
In 1929, she married Edwin Elmer
Danielson. They made their home in
Clatskanie. She was a waitress at the
Tourist Hotel. They moved to Glenwood
in the early thirties and she became a
homemaker. In 1947, the moved to a
FRANK N. KINDEL
Frank N. Kindel, 51, Hillsboro, died
February 27, 2007. Graveside services
were held March 10 in Verboort Ceme-
tery.
Mr. Kindel was born September 8,
1955, in Hillsboro, to Cecil N. and
Louise Ruckman Kindel. He graduated
from Hillsboro High School in 1973.
In 1989, he married Stacy Peppard.
He worked as a carpenter for Trus Joist
and later for a cabinet and woodwork-
ing company in Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Survivors include his wife; two chil-
dren, Nicholas and Mercedes, both of
Hillsboro; three brothers, John and
Greg, both of Banks, and Maurice of
Fairview; three sisters, Bobbie Luttrell
of Aloha, Kitty Landauer and Kathi
Bishop, both of Hillsboro; nieces,
nephews and cousins.
PAUL DAVID KNAUPP
Paul David Knaupp, 68, Vernonia,
died March 16, 2007. Memorial servic-
es were March 21 at the Church of Je-
sus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ver-
nonia.
M. Knaupp was born October 4,
1938, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Paul W. and
Opal B. Marsh Knaupp. He graduated
from Milwaukie High School in 1956
and from Oregon State University in
1960. He earned a master’s degree in
education from the University of Ken-
tucky in 1966. He served in the U.S.
Army.
In 1962, he married Astrid E.
“Wendy” Benton. They made their
home in Tigard, Beaverton and Apple-
ton, Maine, before moving to Vernonia
in 2005. He taught at Lenox Elemen-
tary School for 19 years until retiring in
1996. He and his wife operated
Knaupp’s Classic Fudge Company for
15 years.
He was preceded in death by his
wife.
Survivors include three sons, Todd
Paul, Benjamin D., and Andrew G.; two
ROBERT WARREN LANE SR.
Robert Warren “Bob” Lane Sr., 79,
Warrenton, died March 23, 2007. A me-
morial service was held March 31 in the
First Baptist Church in Warrenton.
Mr. Lane was born December 13,
1927, in Birkenfeld, to Clyde and Fern
(Reid) Lane. The family moved to War-
renton when he was young and he was
raised there. He served in the U.S.
Army.
In 1950, he married Ethel June
Wells. They made their home in War-
renton. He worked for the Warrenton
Lumber Mill for 29 years, retiring in
1989. After retiring, he worked part-time
in the Astoria Chapter of B.P.O.E. bowl-
ing alley.
Survivors include his wife; three
sons, Robert Jr. of Warrenton, Rusty of
Vernonia, and Jim of Tualatin; three
daughters, Peggy Oakes of Fairfax, Vir-
ginia, Mary Sutton of Long Beach,
Washington, and Janice Vrooman of
Tualatin; one brother, Ted of Tacoma,
Wash.; 13 grandchildren; nieces and
nephews.

IRVIN REXFORD NORMAND
Irvin Rexford Normand, 52, formerly
of Vernonia, died March 26, 2007.
Mr. Normand was born June 3,
1954, in Vernonia, to John Albert Sr.
and Janet Louise (Anderson) Normand.
He graduated from Vernonia High
School in 1973. He worked as a welder
for numerous steel companies. He also
worked in the shipyards and as a main-
tenance worker for Willamina Lumber
Company.
He was preceded in death by his fa-
ther and a brother, John A. Jr.
Survivors include a daughter; his
mother of Beaverton; a brother, Donald
E. of Vernonia; two sisters, Bonnie L.
Butler of Goldendale, Washington, and
Darla M. Lardy of Buxton; grandchil-
dren; nieces and nephews.

DOROTHY ANN SHERRATT
Dorothy Ann Sherratt, 82, Hillsboro,
died March 14, 2007. A memorial mass
was held March 19 at Visitation
Catholic Church in Verboort. Interment
was private.
Mrs. Sherratt was born January 16,
1925, in Roy, to Wilford and Dora A.
Vanderzanden Greene. She was raised
in Banks and Verboort and graduated
from Verboort High School. She
worked for the Washington County
Elections Department for 28 years, re-
tiring in 1985.
Survivors include a son, Larry of
Hillsboro; a daughter, Linda Orais of
Hillsboro; two brothers, Richard A.
Greene of Clackamas, and Ellis “Bud”
Greene of Hillsboro; a sister, Judy
Walker of Estacada; four grandchil-
dren; two great-grandchildren; nieces
and nephews.

MICHAEL VAN WEAVER
Michael Van “Mike” Weaver, 60,
Banks, died March 6, 2007. Memorial
services were held March 11 at Buxton
Assembly of God Church. Interment
was private.
Mr. Weaver was born December 20,
1946, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Harvey
and Charlotte Wagner Weaver. When
he was 11, his family moved to Banks.
He graduated from Banks High School
in 1965. He served in the National
Guard Reserves.
In 1968, he married Sherrye L. Gris-
wold. They made their home in Beaver-
ton before moving to Banks in 1994. He
worked for Tektronix for 26 years, retir-
ing in 1990. He later worked at Home
Base in Beaverton and Lanz Cabinet
Shop in Sherwood.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Survivors include his wife; a son,
Jeff of Banks; a sister, the Rev. Susan
Peterson of North Plains; a grandchild;
nieces and nephews.
