The application deadline is Decem- ber 31, 2005. The application deadline is Oct. 31. The Fish Restoration and Enhancement Program was created by the legislature in 1989. It is funded by a sur- charge on sport and commer- cial fishing licenses and com- mercial poundage fees. The program’s seven-member citi- zen board reviews fish restora- tion and enhancement project proposals and makes funding recommendations to the Ore- gon Fish and Wildlife Commis- sion. Board members are appoint- ed by the Commission to four- year terms. They meet three or four times each year, in various communities throughout the state, to review project funding applications, hear public testi- mony and conduct other pro- gram business. Board mem- bers are volunteers; however, board-related business ex- penses are reimbursed. Boosters help Vernonia Rural Fire District cess to public lands that are “land-locked” by private land.
