how and when to have a fish in-
spected will be available at the
Ol’ Saw Mill Eatery, at the lake.
So, how is this going to
work? If 100 people register,
the pot will be $600. A 1% pay
out fish will be worth $6, a 5%
fish will be worth $30 and the
40% pay out fish will be worth
$240. So grab some friends
and go fishing for fun and mon-
ey! Remember, above all this is
for fun and a good cause.

Obituary
CONSTANCE LOUISE DAVIS
Constance Louise Davis, 75, Forest
Grove, died September 12, 2005.
Graveside services were held Septem-
ber 15 in Fir Lawn Memorial Park in
Hillsboro.
Mrs. Davis was born February 2,
1930, in Hillsboro, to Herbert R. and
Carmen Sook Huson. She was raised
in Cornelius and graduated from Forest
Grove High School.
In 1960, she married Raymond
Davis. She was a cook for the Forest
Grove School District for about 30
years.
She was preceded in death by her
husband and a sister, Sally St. Clair.
Survivors include a son, Richard L.
of Cornelius; two daughters, Sandra
Quesnoy of Banks and Debra S.
Owens of Forest Grove; two brothers,
Herbert Huson of Cornelius and Robert
Huson of McMinnville; a sister, Donna
S. Brewer of Forest Grove; two grand-
children; nieces and nephews.

AUNE C. KOSKI
Aune C. Koski, 90, Portland, died
September 11, 2005. A memorial serv-
ice was held September 23 in Portland.
Mrs. Koski was born November 22,
1914, in Virginia, Minnesota. Her maid-
en name was Wallin. She was a regis-
tered nurse in Minn. before moving to
Vernonia in 1948.
In 1948, she married George E.
Koski. They made their home in Ver-
nonia. She moved to Portland in 1976.
She was preceded in death by her
husband.
Survivors include two sons, Dou-
glas and George; and three grandchil-
dren.
Remembrances are suggested to
Vernonia Pride.
Portland Memorial was in charge of
arrangements.
JOHN CHARLES LAZOTT
John Charles Lazott, 79, Estacada,
died September 21, 2005. A service
was held September 26, in Willamette
National Cemetery.
Mr. Lazott was born February 5,
1926, in Buxton. He served in the U.S.
Army during World War II. In 1948, he
married Ruth Reynolds. He was a met-
al polisher in Montana before moving to
Estacada in 1991.
Survivors include his wife; three
sons, Michael, David, and Wesley;
three daughters, Charlene Anderson,
Linda Dorville, and Julie Waggoner;
two sisters, Thelma Jessup and Dolly
Reichstein; nine grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
Remembrances are suggested to
Estacada Community Center.
Cornerstone was in charge of
arrangements.
RONALD WILLIAM LINEHAN
Ronald William Linehan, 55, Banks,
died September 23, 2005. Memorial
services were held October 2 at Kelly
Stadium at Banks High School.
Mr. Linehan was born September
18, 1950, in Yakima, Washington, to
William and Margaret McFadden Line-
han. He was raised in Sunnyside,
Wash. He earned a bachelor’s degree
from University of Idaho and a master’s
degree from Lewis and Clark College.
He moved to Beaverton in 1977.
In 1981, he married Elizabeth
Moore. They made their home in
Beaverton and Hillsboro before moving
to Banks in 1993. He taught history and
physical education, and was head foot-
ball coach at Sunset High School from
1977 to 1993, then head coach and PE
instructor at Westview High School un-
til 2000. He retired in 2001 but helped
coach the Banks High School football
team for two years.
Survivors include his wife; three
sons, Joshua of Corvallis, Cole of Eu-
gene, and Gabriel of Banks; his mother
of Sunnyside, Wash.; six siblings, Rick
of Benton City, Wash., Kelly of Chelan,
Wash., Scott of Miami, Florida., Patti
Hart and Ginny Herber, both of Sunny-
side, Wash., and Terri Beck of Boise,
Idaho; nieces and nephews.
Remembrances are suggested to
the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of

DORENA GENEVIEVE RIDLING
Dorena Genevieve Ridling, 86, Ver-
nonia, died September 15, 2005. Fu-
neral services were held September 20
at Vernonia Community Church with
Pastor Grant Williams officiating, fol-
lowed by concluding rites and inter-
ment at Vernonia Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Ridling was born October 10,
1918, in Vernonia, to Tom and Mary
(Huber) Anderson. She was raised and
educated in Vernonia.
In 1940, she married Harvey C.
Ridling, Jr. They made their home in
Vernonia. She was a homemaker and
mother.
She was preceded in death by her
husband; four brothers, Willie, Ted,
Sam and Chet Anderson; and a sister,
Helen Christianson.
Survivors include one son, Loren of
Aloha; two daughters, Janet Conger of
Vernonia, and Glynis Almond of Gas-
ton; four grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.

Troy Smith, Jr., 78, Keizer, died
September 8, 2005. Services were

Mr. Smith was born July 8, 1927, in
Vernonia, to Mildred and Troy Smith Sr.
He moved to Hines and served in the
U.S. Army. After his discharge, he
worked for Hines Lumber Company. He
moved to North Bend to attend beauty
school.
In 1954, he married Evelyn. They
moved to Keizer in 1971. After three
years in cosmetology he moved into
sales, where he spent the remainder of
his career.
Survivors include his wife; two
daughters, Tara Colter and Trenda
Staudenmier, both of Keizer; a brother,
Clarence of Burns; three grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; nieces and
nephews.
Remembrances are suggested to
Willamette Valley Hospice/Doernbech-
er Children’s Hospital.

MARY KATHERINE STROHECKER
Mary Katherine Strohecker, 80,
Portland, died September 3, 2005.
Memorial services were held Septem-
ber 26, at Riverview Cemetery in Port-
land.
Mrs. Strohecker was born May 22,
1925, in Bend. Her maiden name was
Fairchild, she was a direct descendant
of Daniel Webster. She was an award-
winning high school teacher in St. Paul,
Portland and Scappoose.
Survivors include three sons, John
and Thomas, both of Portland, and
James of Redwood City, California; two
daughters, Elizabeth Schaedler of
Banks, and Catherine Strohecker of
Oakland, Calif.; one brother, Jim
Fairchild of Medford; and five grandchil-
dren.
Remembrances are suggested to
the Alzheimer’s Association or to the
ASPCA.
LEANNE MARIE WACHNER
LeAnne Marie Wachner, 68, Banks,
died September 25, 2005. Funeral
services were held September 29, at
Fir Lawn Mortuary in Hillsboro. Inter-
ment was in Fir Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Wachner was born October 26,
1936, in Hillsboro, to Roy and Anna
Pearson. She was raised in Hillsboro.
In 1957, she married Dale Wachner.
She worked in the secretarial pool at
the Department of Agriculture and later
worked for Bird’s Eye Cannery, the
Oregon State Police and Washington
County. She retired in the 1980s.
She was preceded in death by a
brother, Wilbur Pearson.
Survivors include her husband; one
son, Randall of Hillsboro; one daughter,
Cynthia “Cindy” Carmody of Cedar Mill;
two brothers, Ken Pearson of McMinn-
ville, and Ron Pearson of Hillsboro; one
sister, Elaine Waits of Redmond; three
granddaughters.
Fir Lawn Mortuary of Hillsboro was
