ODFW encourages the use of blaze orange as a standard safety measure dur- ing hunting seasons. “Oregon’s hunters have a very good safety record, and we want to keep it that way,” said Condon. “Even one fatality is too much.” Last year there was one hunting fatality in Oregon. One hunting fatality occurred in 2003, three in 2002, three in 2001 and two in 2000, accord- ing to Oregon State Police re- ports.
