Synchro Fire swim team does well at two meets
St. Helens Synchro Fire re­
cently competed in two region­
al synchronized swimming

The novice trio team of Mun­
son, Solomon and Wolf, swam
eighth place in their level. Hart
secured second in her age
group and McCausland fin­
ished fifth in her ‘B’ level fig­
ures.
Competition found Hayes
and Heimuller with a fourth
place finish after a false start
for duet teams. Teammates
Hart and McCausland took a
close third in 14-15 intermedi­
ate duet teams.

chro Fire is actively seeking a
coach to replace Alex Brookins,
who is leaving after five years

in their category. Melissa Mun­
son of Portland, Synchro Fire’s
newest and youngest novice,
placed in the top ten among 22
competitors in her level.
Jennifer Hayes of Vernonia,
finished an impressive third
place while teammate Mikela
Heimuller, of St. Helens, swam
in at seventh place in their cat­
egory. Lauren McCausland (12-
13) and Cassie Hart (14-15)
both of St. Helens, swept up
second in Intermediate *B’ fig-

to the music of I ’m a Kid. Next,
intermediate duet team of
Hayes and Heimuller, placed
fifth with their rendition of Fern
Gully. The duet team of Cassie
Hart and Lauren McCausland
secured second in their level
with an unusual Middle-Eastern
medley.
The team’s next regional
meet was held in Kirkland,
Washington, over Memorial
Day weekend. There were
about 150 athletes, including
teams from Juneau and Valdez,
Alaska, and Bozeman, Mon­
tana, as well as Oregon and
Washington.
Once again in compulsory
figures, Hayes took third place
while Heimuller slipped into
