Randy Hansen was elected
chairman for the coming year
and Brunsman was picked for
vice-chairman.
The board approved a reso
lution allowing the district to ap-
$487,000 in QZABS funds, but
the resolution is required. After
approval of the resolution, the
state will find a bank to handle
the funds. At prior meetings, it
was explained that the funds
will be used for the middle
school project.

Scholl told the board that he
plans to have more testing next
year and to do a better job of
focusing on goals. On the Ath
letic Code of Conduct, Scholl
said the changes include clarifi
cation of Vernonia’s code ver
sus OSAA 2A codes, to bring
the two into line and avoid con
fusion. Funderburg said that
many districts do not review
and the public on the following
committees: Long Range Plan
ning Committee, Consolidated
Improvement Plan Committee,
Curriculum Committee, Safety
Committee, Maintenance Com
mittee, Athletic/Activity Adviso
ry Committee, Negotiations
Committee and the Job De
scription Handbook Committee.

cess and safety to Lost Lake,
visitors will need to access the
southeast Clatsop County lake
from Highway 26, not from
Henry Rierson Spruce Run
Campground.
Public access to Lost Lake
has been closed from Henry
Rierson Spruce Run Camp
ground, according to the Ore
gon Department of Forestry.
The closure is expected to last
at least 10 days.

Computer camp
in St. Helens
Summer computer camps
for kids are being offered
through August by the Colum
bia Learning Center. Camps
are for ages 7-17 and are four
to eight hours long over the
course of a week.
Participants can learn how
to create projects using the
computer in these camps: Jun
gle Journey, My Own Slide
Show, Computer Assembly,
Scientific Journey, Computer
Programming for Kids, or Pho
to Editing.
A one-time discount of $5 is
given to each child who regis
ters with a friend or family
member.
Parents
