Page 2 River Fest Special Edition, April 23, 2005 The Lions Club of Ver- nonia is raising monies for the Scouting groups and for the Skate Park project. We give you the chance to win a prize while making a donation to the cause. “We Serve” is our motto. The Lions will be serving hot dogs and sausage with sauerkraut. The River Fest brings our community together to celebrate our parks, natural beauty, and great history. It gives vis- itors the opportunity to see or town. It gives our non-profits a chance to raise monies and a chance for our business owners to experience greater foot traffic. This year we are sell- ing rubber ducks for the River Fest Rubber Duck Race. Help the Scouts and the Lions, as we continue to serve the community, by buying a $5.00 or $25.00 duck. George Tice Lions Club Vernonia On behalf of Cub Scout Pack 201, we would all like to send a big THANK YOU to the community & surround- ing areas that pur- chased ducks from us for the Duck Race at River Fest 2005. Also, thank you to Triple S Saw Shop & Vernonia Mercantile for their con- tribution of sales. Thanks to the business- es around town that let us advertise with fliers. We had a great deal of support & plan to use our proceeds for 2 of our summer activities. These are our cross- over campout in June & our Safe Swim program in August. We plan to do this fundraiser again next year, so watch for information in 2006. Thank you also to the local businesses that al- lowed our Cub Scouts to set up & sell on your premises.
