John Kerry with saving his life in 1969 by turning a boat around and pulling him out of a river in Viet- nam, took a break from his new life in the national spotlight to visit with veterans in five Ore- gon towns last week. According to Rassmann, un- til recently a registered Repub- needs a new commander-in- chief who will be honest with the American people and pro- vide strong, effective leader- ship at home and around the world. “George Bush had an oppor- tunity after 9/11 to bring not only the American people to- gether, but the rest of the world as well,” said Rassmann. “He didn’t just squander it, he trashed it. We’ve got the wrong man at the top and we’ve got to get him out of there.” Prominently featured during Rassmann’s conversation with local veterans was the war in Iraq. Rassmann contends that the situation in Iraq would have been different with a more competent and effective leader at the helm.
