Over 600 mature marijuana plants were seized last week from 16 locations in Columbia County, during four days of marijuana eradication opera- tions throughout the county. The smallest seizure was four plants; the largest site had over four-hundred plants. No arrests were made, though one adult male was re- ferred to the Columbia County District Attorney’s office. Addi- tionally, several leads and other persons of interest are being investigated in connection with the out- door marijuana opera- tions. Anyone having infor- ma- tion o r wish- ing to surren- der to authori- ties should call 503-397-1167. Though the mission is being considered a huge success, officials suggest- ed that people having reason to be in the woods should remain vigilant to other undis- covered mari- juana growing operations. Anyone discovering what they believe to be mari- juana growing outdoors should leave the area and contact their local law enforcement agency. The operation was conduct- ed by investigators with the Co- lumbia Enforcement Narcotics Team (CENT) in cooperation with the Oregon Army National Guard, St. Helens Police De- partment, Oregon State Police, Columbia County Sheriffs Of- fice, Scappoose Police Depart- ment, and Clatskanie Police Department.
