Yard of the Month
The bench above was created by Carvin’ Marvin, who will
be in Vernonia during Jamboree and Salmon Festival. The
bench will be raffled in order to raise money for more bench-
es, like the one above, for the down town area. The bench is
currently at City Hall, but will be displayed near Wauna Fed-
eral Credit Union during Jamboree. After Jamboree watch for
the bench in various locations in Vernonia with, again, raffle
tickets to be sold. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. For more

The Yard of the Month for July is the home of Mars and Geri Haret at 1464 Heather
Lane. The Harets have lived in Vernonia for about three years, and this one is worth a
drive by. The yard ornaments are delightful.
A reminder from Vernonia Pride: Yards that are nominated must be visible from the
street. We need to have the yard visible to the public so we don’t have people getting
out of their cars and peeping over fences. Nominations may be left in the special box at
city hall and, yes, they are all taken into account and looked at.

     

