2004 My Fair Lady Queen Esther Scott Medicare Rx Card meeting Aug.13
Vernonia area Medicare
beneficiaries can soon get an-
swers to their questions about
the Medicare Prescription Drug
Discount Card.
An informational presenta-
tion will be made at the Vernon-
ia Senior Center, 446 Bridge
St., on Friday, August 13. The
program will start at 10:30 a.m.
The information will be pre-
sented by Christina Jaramillo,
State Director for the Senior
Health Insurance Benefits As-
sistance (SHIBA) program.
SHIBA is a joint federal/state
program that utilizes volunteers
to assist people with Medicare.
The Scappoose Senior Center
sponsors the program in Co-
lumbia County.
Vernonia Society, ‘Old Grad’ picnic
set for August 15 at Anderson Park
The annual picnic of the Ver-
nonia Society and “Old Grads”
will be held August 15 at Ander-
son Park in Vernonia. Registra-
tion begins at 10:00 a.m.
Hot dogs and soft drinks will
be on sale by Vernonia Pride,
or bring a picnic lunch. Coffee
and cups will be provided.
All former Vernonia resi-
dents and their families are
welcome. Come and visit with
old friends or meet some new
ones.
