Hwy 47 work will disrupt power in some areas
Some West Oregon Electric
members in Vernonia will expe-
rience a scheduled power out-
age on Saturday, April 17,
beginning at 7:30 a.m. Power
will be returned to most mem-
bers by 10:30 a.m., but resi-

dents of Blue Heron Hollow will
not have electric service until
3:30 p.m.
In addition, a brief switching
outage along Mist Drive may
occur on Friday to help reduce
the impact of the April 17 out-
age.
The scheduled outage will
allow crews to complete con-
struction on the power line relo-
cation required by the Oregon
Department of Transportation
as part of its Highway 47 resur-
facing project. West Oregon
crews will convert most of the
existing overhead electric facil-
ities to underground from
California Avenue to Texas
Avenue. Additional time will be
needed to convert the over-
head tap line serving Blue
Heron Hollow.
Motorists will experience
slight traffic delays during the
outage.
Members will be notified by
mail and by phone if they are to
be affected by the outage,
which will generally include the
area of O-A Hill and east
Vernonia.
Questions may be directed
to West Oregon Electric at 503-
429-3021.
