Turkeys, hams still needed for Cares boxes Turkeys and hams are still needed for the Vernonia Cares Christmas food boxes. Slightly more than 100 have been do- nated and purchased, to date, leaving a need for approxi- mately 100 more to meet the goal of 200. There are still several ways to donate before Christmas. If you purchase a ham or turkey at Vernonia Sentry, you can do- nate at the check stand. Also, there will be a drop site at the Providence Family Medicine parking lot on December 6 and 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Another option is to call Pat or Bob Stacklie at 503-429-7563 for pick-up at your home in the Vernonia area. Volunteers working on this project have expressed sincere thanks to all who have come forward with generous dona- tions of turkeys, hams, cash and Saver Shields! Your donation is tax deduc- tible and greatly needed. Please help if you can. Welcome Additions Emily Skye Epler Emily Skye Epler was born November 20, 2003, to Andrea and John Epler of Salem.
