Dentist establishes practice in Vernonia
Happy teeth, happy gums -
there’s a new dentist in Vernon
ia. Christopher Scheuerman,
D.M.D., has been accepting
new patients, both children and
adults, since August 4.
Although Dr. Scheuerman is
a recent graduate of OHSU
Dental School, he has plenty of
experience. He has been treat
ing patients for the last three
years and during that time, has
seen more than two hundred
patients with a full range of
dental conditions. He also
placed in the top four for the
prestigious Howard Award at
this year’s Pacific NW Dental
Conference.
Dr. Scheuerman is experi
enced in the latest techniques
and technologies and will have
a chadless practice, with all pa
tient information on a secure
computer. His office has the lat
est in X-ray equipment, includ
ing digital X-ray, which can pro
vide as much as a 90-percent
decrease in radiation exposure
over normal X-ray machines. In
addition to helping patients with
the latest technology, he em
phasizes his strong belief in the
importance of patient education
to help save teeth and increase
knowledge.
Born
in
Arizona,
Dr.
Scheuerman has lived in small
towns and has spent time in
Colorado, California, Arkansas,
Oregon and Washington. He
and his wife, Erin, have a three-
year-old son, William, and an
other son is due in September.
Acreage, a house, shop,
tools, collector tractors and oth
er collectibles will be sold by
the Division of State Lands at
an auction near Banks on Sat
urday, August 16.
The auction begins at 10
a.m. with a preview beginning

they plan a move to Vernonia
after the baby arrives. He and
Erin want to live in a small town
and after visting here, both felt
that Vernonia “is where we
should be." They love the quiet
and beauty here and look for
ward to raising their family in a
small town environment.

Scheuerman enjoys cycling,
Sen. Wyden sets Town Hall meeting
U. S. Senator Ron Wyden will host a town hall meeting in
the Scappoose City Council Chambers, 33568 East Columbia
Avenue, on Sunday, August 17, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
“Jobs and the economy, affordable health care and quality
education have been top concerns at other town meetings
throughout Oregon," Wyden said. “I’m looking forward to hear
ing from folks about these and other topics at my town meet
ings."
In Wyden’s 1996 U. S. Senate campaign, he promised to
hold a town hall meeting in every Oregon county each year.
Since being elected, he has held more than 300 town hall
meetings.

Bridge Street in Vernonia, will
be open three days a week.

Rainier man is winner
of Cannon Beach trip
Sandy Gillespie, of Rainier,
was the lucky winner of a two-
