Rose City Motorcycle Club fills Vernonia Cares cupboard, again
Following the devastating
flood in February of 1996, the
Rose City Motorcycle Club
“adopted” Vernonia Cares
emergency food bank. Since
their first trip - on a rainy
March day - they have made
from two to four trips each
year to bring food and sun
dries to people needing some
help.
Supporting the club on
every trip has been Bob Lan-
phere Honda of Beaverton,
who has provided a van and
driver to deliver the donations
to Vernonia.
On the latest trip, Saturday,
June 21, the club brought
nearly 1400 pounds of food
they purchased for Vernonia
Cares.
Calculating roughly 21 trips
during
seven-and-a-half
years, with 1400 pounds of
food donated on each trip, the
club’s donations total 29,400
pounds - nearly 15 tons of
good natured, dedicated gen
erosity.

gratefully stocked the shelves.
