ESTHER J. EBY
Esther Jensen Eby, 91, Portland,
died June 6, 2003. A funeral was held
June 12 in Riverview Abbey Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Eby was born March 31, 1912,
in Clatskanie, to John and Amanda
Jensen. She graduated from Westport
High School and attended Oregon Nor
mal School, then taught elementary
school in Marshland and Mist. She was
principal at Mist.
In 1941, she married Robert Eby.
They lived in Corvallis, Portland, Taco
ma, Minnesota and Washington, then
returned to Portland.
Survivors include her husband, two
daughters, Trish Eby of Seattle, and
Gaile Baack of Portland; two sisters,
Jan Morrison of Bend, and Vivian
Stensland of Corvallis; four grandchil
dren.

LINDA M. LEE
Linda Mary Lee, 42, Forest Grove,
died June 3, 2003. A funeral mass was
celebrated June 7 at St. Francis of As
sisi Catholic Church in Roy. with Father
Mike Hemming, celebrant. Interment
was in St. Francis Cemetery.
Mrs. Lee was born December 23,
1960, in Hillsboro, to Norman R. “Bob"
and Anna N. Herb Vandehey. She at
tended St. Francis of Assisi Grade
School and graduated from Banks High
School in 1979.
In 1986, she married Dennis J. Lee.
They lived in Bend, Lincoln City, Astoria
and Carson City, Nev. They moved to
Hillsboro in 1995 and to Forest Grove
in 2003.
She worked as an accountant for
Haney Trucking of Cornelius, Nike of
Beaverton, Longbottom Coffee of Hills
boro and UEI Inc. of Beaverton. Since
2001, she was a full-time homemaker
and home-schooled her children.
Survivors include her husband; two
sons, Tyson J. and Gavin R, and a
daughter, Janna S., all of Forest Grove;
her parents, of Manning; two sisters,
Dianne Park of Manning and Brenda
Murdock of Hillsboro; a brother, Brian
Vandehey of Manning; several nieces
and nephews.
Remembrances are suggested to
Forest Grove Special Olympics.

arrangements.
NORBERT B. KEIM
Norbert B. Keim, 74, Hillsboro, died
June 11,2003. Memorial services were
June 18 at Donelson, Sewell and Math
ews Mortuary, with Pastor Dan Stewart,
officiating. Private interment will be at a
later date.
Mr. Keim was born January 19,
1929, in Eureka, S.D., to Frederick and
Clara Haag Keim. He moved to Forest
Grove when he was two and attended
school in Buxton, Cornelius and Forest
Grove.
In 1948, he married Ruby Duling.
They lived in Hillsboro.
He worked at the Oregon Ship
yards, Hillsboro Auto Wrecking, Bunge-
Hill Motors and Jack Swank Pontiac
auto body shops. He was drafted into
the U S. Army in 1952, served in Ger
many for two years and was in the
Army Reserves for 10 years. He
earned a GED while in the army.
Mr. Keim started his own body shop
in Aloha after his discharge. He later
worked as a machinist and mechanical
engineer at Tektronix in Beaverton and
retired in 1983.
Survivors include his wife; three
daughters, Kathleen Brack of Blantyre,
Malawi, Africa, Nancy Harlow of Hills
boro, and Susan Keim of Mesa, Ari
zona; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son,
David; five sisters and three brothers.

Columbia Foundation and
Technology Center has an
nounced that its signature
event - “Black Tie and Blue
Jeans" - dinner, auction and
summer social, will be held
again this year. Friends of the
Foundation and users of Co

made and delivered by July 10.
The benefit dinner and auc
tion will be on Saturday, August
2, from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the
Deer Island Stock Ranch.
