Public hearings to consider 1) vacation of a
portion of Oklahoma Avenue adjacent to
Spencer Park and 2) a $1 Parks utility fee
billed through the water bill are scheduled
one immediately after another before the
Vernonia City Council on January 6, 2003,
at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of
City Hall, 1001 Bridge Street, Vernonia,
Oregon.
Public Hearing on the vacation is governed
by Vernonia Ordinance 711 and ORS
271.005 through 27.170. Vacation proceed
ings were initiated by the City of Vernonia
pursuant to ORS 271.130.
Public hearing on the parks fee is governed
by 1998 Vernonia Charter.
Staff reports will be available to the public
at City Hall for seven days before the hear
ings, and may be copied for a nominal fee.
Failure to raise an issue in a hearing, in
person or by letter, or failure to provide
statements or evidence sufficient to afford
the decision-maker an opportunity to re
spond to the issue precludes appeal to the
board based on that issue. Public testimo
ny is welcome, and written statements will
be received before the hearing if you can
not attend.
The meeting location is accessible to per
