used to be a friendly place to go.
I liked to ju s t listen to th e m

T h e d a y s w h en w e co uld go
get bread , cakes, pies, stuff like
that, the ladies w e re m ore than
h a p p y to help you w ith a n y ­
th in g , th e y also n e ve r looked at
y o u [as th o u g h y o u ] w e re
s o m e b o d y s tra n g e , you w a s
ju s t co m m o n folks. I liked to go
th ro u g h th e door, and alw ays
see W illie. Yes she is m y friend,
but th a t has no th in g to do w ith
th is letter, but now s h e ’s gone,
