unclaimed property owners.

report, search DSL’s database.

lands.dsl.state.or.us, then click
on “Unclaimed Property.” Send
questions to: claims@dsl.state,
or.us. If you see names of fam
ily or friends refer them to the
Web site. They must respond
for themselves.

ing counties a more integral
part of the human service deliv
ery system. Rural counties
have long suffered from an im
balance of capacity to match
growth and need. I hope to
strengthen the relationship be
tween the state and counties in
delivering human services to
our shared constituency.”

County will sell composting bins
Columbia County is holding
a Composting Bin Sale in an ef
fort to reduce the amount of or
ganic waste that is burned or
buried in landfills.
Anyone who generates a lot
of food scraps and yard debris
should consider purchasing a
home compost bin at a dis
counted rate of $33.00 each
(retail value is $80.00). The
bins are made of durable, recy
cled plastic and may be used
for both kitchen scraps and
yard waste.
Orders will be taken until
July 26. Remember, by com
posting kitchen and yard waste
at home, you can create a free
source of fertilizer while con
serving valuable landfill space.
