2002 Vernonia Friendship Jamboree
Horse gaming gets whole families involved in friendly competition
The Nehalem Valley Ridge
Riders annual Horse Gaming
Show will be held on Sunday,
August 4 at 9:30 a.m. in the
Anderson Park Arena.
Registration begins at 8:30
a.m. The entry fee is $5 per
event or $15 for all day, $30
per Ridge Rider family, and $40
per non-member family. This
fee includes all events.
This year’s gaming will
include Texas Barrels, Pole
Bending, a Flag Race, an
Obstacle Course and more.
There are five classes of
competition: eight years and
under; 9-13 years; 14-19 years
old; 20-39; and the final age
classification is 40 and older.
Awards include ribbons up to
fifth place and a High Point tro
phy in each class.
Contestants must wear
heeled shoes or boots. Stud
horses will not be allowed to
participate and no dogs are
allowed in the arena. Camping
facilities are available.
