Logging show contestants use both working and athletic skills
Choker setting is a lot harder than it looks, even with small
cables and chokers, but these kids just don’t give up.
Logging show contestants
will be tested on their accuracy,
speed and agility in the various
contests of the Jamboree
Logging show on Sunday, Aug.
4 at 12:00 noon in Hawkins
Park. Most of the participants
are professional loggers.
Events include bucking with
working saws 4-5 cu. and 5-6
cu., unlimited saws, women’s
bucking, pole falling, steeple
chase , pole walk and snip and
choker setting.
Kids participate in the
Logging Show as well, in the
kid’s choker setting event, and
their own ax throw competition.
Pole Walk and Snip requires speed, agility and balance, all while carrying, then using, a pro-
fessional chainsaw.
