County Board of Commissioners will hold a
public hearing on Wednesday, June 5,
2002, at or after 6:00 p.m. in the Clatskanie
City Hall Court Room, Clatskanie, Oregon.
2. The purpose of this hearing is to solicit
public input on the Fiscal Year 2002-2003
Columbia County Budget.
3. Any person may appear at the meeting
and discuss the proposed budget.
4. The County does not discriminate on the

Public hearings regarding 1) vacating
Maple Street between Rose Avenue and
Weed Avenue with reservation of a public
easement; and 2) amending the Trans
portation System Plan will be held one after
another before the Vernonia Planning Com
mission on June 6, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. and
before the City Council on June 17, 2002 at
7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City
Hall, 1001 Bridge Street, Vernonia, OR
97064. Public testimony is welcome. If you
cannot attend the hearing, you may file writ
ten testimony or objections with the City
Recorder by 5:00 p.m. on day of the hear
ing.
A staff report will be available to the public
at City Hall for seven days before the hear
ings, and may be copied for a nominal fee.

This hearing is governed by ORS 271.005 -
271.170, ORS 197.763, ORS 227.100, and
Vernonia Ordinances 710 and 711. Failure
to raise an issue in a hearing, in person or
by letter or failure to provide statements or
evidence sufficient to afford the decision
maker an opportunity to respond to the is
sue precludes appeal to the board based on
that issue.
The meeting location is accessible to per
sons with disabilities. A request for an inter
preter for the hearing impaired or for other
accommodations for persons with disabili
ties should be made at least 48 hours prior
