St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Vernonia is mostly about having fun
Eclectic entries are the norm for Vernonia’s St.
Patrick’s Day parade. Above is parade founder Pat
Knight, out of the hospital just in time to ride the parade
route. Below, Red Curl, with drum, leads the parade
with a color guard carrying both the U.S. and Irish
flags. Bottom, a contingent of off-road riders show their
wheels. At left is “Bed-Rail Bob” Prohaska with his
