SHERYL R. MC LENDON
Sheryl R. McLendon, 43, Beaver
ton, died December 19, 2001. A funeral
service was held December 27 at
Bethel Congregational Church in
Beaverton. Inurnment was in Vernonia
Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. McLendon was born April 10,
1958, in Hillsboro. Her maiden name
was Ray. She taught school since
1980, in Detroit and Banks, and most
recently, 3rd Grade at Beaver Acres El
ementary School. She was a member
of the Portland Skyliners.
In 1991, she married Martin McLen
don.
Survivors include her husband; two
sons, Grant Patrick, and Kevin Ray; her
mother, Patricia Ray Wilhelm of
Longview, Wash., a sister, Robin Mur
phy of Vernonia; three brothers,
George and Patrick Ray, both of Ver
nonia, and Marty Ray of Athena; nieces
and nephews.
Pegg, Paxson & Springer Chapel
was in charge of arrangments.
DOLLIE D. BOSWELL
Dollie Dimple Boswell, 93, Hillsboro,
died December 12, 2001. A funeral ser
vice was held December 17 in Fuiten,
Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home in Forest
Grove, with Dick Colsen, of the Bethel
Full Gospel Church in Forest Grove, of
ficiating. Private interment was in South
Yamhill Cemetery in McMinnville.
Mrs. Boswell was born November 7,
1908, in Beardstown, III., to William
Franklin and Clara Bell Blankenship
Brown. She grew up in Arkansas.
In 1927, she married Charles R.
Boswell. They lived in Illinois and Cali
fornia before moving to Hillsboro in
1956.
She worked as a homemaker and
mother to 14 children. She was a mem
ber of the Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Boswell was preceded in death
by her husband in 1991; a sister, a
brother, two sons and two daughters.
Survivors include six sons, William
D. of Elizabethtown, Ky„ Melvin E. of
Banks, Gene L. and Gary of McMinn
ville, Clyde V. and Jackie L. of Hills
boro; four daughters, Louise Shirley of
Winters, Calif., Reba F. Norris, Fay
Davis and Malinda K. Stewart of Hills
boro; a sister, Ruby Johnson of Fresno,
Calif.; 29 grandchildren; 47 great
grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

in Forest Grove was in charge of
arrangements.
