ment with scrapbooking, Carey
Jones-Timmerman has opened

personal involvement has gone
way beyond the hobby level.

scrapbooking enthusiasts.
often worked for Cropper Hop
per at events in Portland and
Seattle, then studied more on
the subject and earned her
Scrapbooking Arts degree from
Creating Keepsakes magazine.
This month, she was named
winner of a page contest by Hot
Off The Press.
In addition to bringing scrap-
booking supplies to Vernonia,
Carey will be offering both
classes and crops. Her classes
will be scheduled to meet the
needs of the community, but
they will not all be limited to
adults. Carey plans to also offer
classes that will meet the
needs of both high school and
grade school youth.
Stop in at Carey’s Creat-A-
Cate Scrapbook & More at 715
Bridge Street. She’s open

from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or
call her at 503-429-4773. You’ll
find prices comparable to spe
cialty stores in the valley and,
even more, you will enjoy great
customer service.
drawing for free 100 gallons of oil
November 30 is the deadline
to enter a drawing for 100 gal
lons of free heating oil. If you
heat your home with oil, have
never had an energy audit and
request one by Nov. 30, you’ll
be entered in the drawing. Two
Oregon residents will be select
ed at random. Call 1-800-452-
8660 for the free audit.
The energy audit is part of
the Oregon Office of Energy’s
State Home Oil Weatherization
(SHOW) Program. The audit
will cover how to keep out the
cold weather and which ener
gy-saving measures are eligi
ble for special rebates.
SHOW analysts check insu
lation in the attic, walls and
floors, inspect the windows and
perform a free furnace efficien
cy test.
While special funds last, you
can get as much as $1,200
cash back from the SHOW Pro-
gram for energy-saving mea
sures such as:
• Energy-efficient replace
ment windows, up to $200
• High-efficiency replace
ment oil furnace or burner, up
to $200
• Insulation and programma
ble thermostats, up to $400.
Homeowners also may qual
ify for a 6.5-percent interest
SHOW loan through participat
ing lenders for any measure
recommended in the SHOW
audit. To qualify for rebates or
financing, the Office of Energy
must approve the project be
fore work begins.
The SHOW Program serves
households that heat with oil,
wood, propane, kerosene or
butane. Oregon’s fuel oil indus
try provides funding. For more
information, call toll-free: 1-
